01 / The data record
The live metadata table below describes this deployment’s exact source snapshot. The daily reference is computed from that snapshot; it is not a real-time CPI feed.
The snapshot hash is SHA-256 of the UTF-8 JSON.stringify representation returned by /api/v1/source. Pretty-printed file bytes produce a different hash.

02 / The calculation chain
BLS CPI-U NSA → lagged monthly observations → daily Reference CPI → normalization to 100 → IPU Index. The API publishes each valuation date’s input months and the base Reference CPI.
There is no price oracle, token market price or predictive inflation model in this release.
03 / What is not claimed
IPU Coin is a proposed inflation-resistant stablecoin, currently at the research stage. No token is issued, no reserves have been established for it, and no redemption mechanism is offered. There is therefore no reserve attestation to display.
The code has not received an independent audit. Data-source attribution does not imply endorsement by BLS or the U.S. Treasury. Historical research values are not a record of live publication.
04 / Primary sources
The links below identify the official data source and the reference conventions used in the implementation. IPU is an independent research application of those inputs.
